A dead girl found in the trunk of a Mayoral candidate makes an excellent plot to make a top rated television series. Doesn't it ?

To add some more twist, the girl is found in a car submerged deep inside a lake that is in no man's land.

This case is handled by two detectives, one Sarah Linden, who is a blood hound that forgets everything else, when its about a case, even the whereabouts of her son. Beside her, is another detective who has recently moved into the precinct, a young junkie looking man with a shady past.

The case seems to relvolve around secrets. The detectives, the kid who is found dead in the middle of a lake, her parents and the candidates who are fighting for the mayor past.

Twists and turns that are sprayed around in each of the episodes aside, the Danish series, "The Killing" makes it past other television series with its dangerously good mix of human emotions that string it together. The emotions and human relations hold it together to make it an exciting plot.

Every body in the plot seems to be on the radar of these two cops. Sarah Linden is all set to bring the world down to catch the killer.

A grieving family, staggering at the loss of their daughter, A cop trying to get her life sorted and another trying to save her marriage and connection with her only son.

There is a shroud of doubt upon every action taken and the lingering consequences of its after effects. And finally when you seem to understand that the real killer has been caught, the plot thickens to question everything that has happened till now.

Will the real killer be caught? You have to watch it to know it.

Overall the television series is gripping and addictive and perfect for a binge watch. Suspense, drama and dogged detective work makes it a must watch in all aspects. Does it stand out from all the detective serials out there, you bet it does.
